Digislide Wins National Secrets Award

13th March, 2007

South Australian technology company, Digislide, recognised globally for its Digismart Miniature Projection Technologies, has taken out an award on its debut in the Secrets of Australian ICT Innovation Competition.

Digislide received 3rd place in the category of Communication Applications at the award ceremony held at the Melbourne Arts Centre tonight. The annual awards, now in their 5th year, recognise innovation and honours those companies at the cutting edge of their respective fields.

Senator the Hon Helen Coonan presented Digislide’s Marketing Manager, Tim English with the prestigious award at the function which celebrates the top tier of ICT developers in Australia. Mr English said, “This continues what has been an amazing 15 months for Digislide. Things have literally taken off for Digislide since the ANZA Technology Conference at the end of 2005. Being a Secrets Winner consolidates our international success, with recognition on our home soil for Digislide’s outstanding technologies.”

In her Press Release, Senator Coonan said, “Winning companies receive their choice of new IT equipment from competition sponsor Dell or a share in $105,000 worth of prizes designed to assist them to present their product at major events.”

Winners in 6 categories, (23 in all, narrowed down from a field of 62 finalists) are tipped to capture significant market share. Judges looked for a strong management capability which in turn ensured an ability to successfully commercialise their innovative technologies.

Digislide is no stranger to receiving awards, having received numerous accolades for its Digismart Miniature Projection Technologies, including winning the Hottest Technology Award at the ANZA Technology Network Conference in Silicon Valley, USA; being a Finalist (IT Hardware) at the World Technology Awards in San Francisco, USA; and being designated as a Top 100 Global Innovator by the Guidewire Group, USA.
