29th March, 2006
Digislide, a leading projection technology company was tonight the recipient of the ABC TV’s “New Inventors 2006 Episode Winner” award. Digislide’s Kevin Soper and Luceille Outhred accepted the award in recognition of their highly marketable Digismart miniature projection technology (DMPT).
The ABC’s New Inventors program awarded Digismart as the best invention on March 29, capping off a successful month for the South Australian founded company, who were also designated as a “Top 100 Guidewire Global Innovator” by industry analysts, Guidewire Group, and designated by the South Australian Government as a “Fast Growth Company”.
Joint inventors, Philip Banks, Kevin Soper and Luceille Outhred are responsible for the idea of the Digismart technology which has been developed by a specialist team in Adelaide, Australia.
Digismart is essentially a miniature projector that can be integrated with a range of electronic hand held devices, or supplied as a stand alone peripheral. The enhanced functionality that Digismart provides will eliminate the current constraints of viewing an image on a small screen display, allowing the user to project up to an 11 by 17 inch image from a cell phone, PDA, MP4 player, GPS, hand held gaming device, digital camera or laptop.
Luceille Outhred, CEO of Digislide said, “With the advent of convergence and connectivity technologies, there has been a marked increase in content capacity and transmission capabilities. Despite all that, detailed images are not possible due to small display screens. Digismart enhances functionality by addressing these constraints”.
Luceille added, “The New Inventors award is a great honour and provides concrete recognition for the skill, fortitude and high level of teamwork that Digislide have displayed to date, and it has already resulted in expressions of interest for investment”.
Digislide are currently speaking with Venture Capital firms, global brands and manufacturers regarding the implementation of their patented Digismart technologies.
